La crème de la crème
We visit top class hotels in Cumbria to enjoy afternoon teas. All teas are private functions.
We are a relaxed, friendly and informal Group. You'll be met at the hotel entrance and made most welcome. Phone or email to book or for details. Happy to arrange a lift or travel companion. Why not bring a non-member friend? (Nb. Non-members may attend 2 meetings/events before joining SLU3A.) PAY ON THE DAY.

I founded this group seven years ago; it's been successful way beyond my expectations. I need now to do other things but have been unable to find anyone willing to take over the running of this group. Therefore 'Afternoon Teas' has closed.
Our 'Farewell Tea’ was held early July at Michelin-starred 'The Samling', Windermere. They provided one of the best ‘Teas’ we've had in a long while; a fitting end There is a demand for this Group and if you feel you - or you and a friend – could resurrect it please phone or email me. It's a particularly pleasant group to run; easy, too, so would suit a member who hasn't previously acted as co-ordinator. No problem if you don't eat Teas -neither do I. Call me and I'll explain it all to you.
The chat that members sustain throughout Teas is unceasing - quite remarkable! In Feb the 'Punch Bowl' (Crosthwaite) chat, aided by lovely food, was typical. Likewise, I suspect, at our Michelin-starred March venue, Forest Side Hotel, Grasmere. Report in the next Newsletter.
We are all very saddened by the death of Mary Charlton who was due to join me in February as joint co-ordinator. I shall retire as co-ordinator and seek a replacement. Anyone willing to take this role on should contact me.
