What we do

CORONAVIRUS THREAT - SEE REPORTS BELOW

There are four separate Amblers groups, walking in different locations, but with similar approaches. All four meet twice each month.

Amblers 1 & Amblers 2 walks proceed at a fairly gentle pace, are about 5 miles long without much climbing (maybe 500 feet or so, depending on the leaders). Along the way we stop for a coffee break and a picnic lunch. Dogs on leads are allowed on walks in group 1, but not in group 2.

Amblers 3 has the possibility of a pub or cafe lunch at the end of the walk instead of a break for lunch (particularly in the Winter months). A visit to a garden or historical site might be included during or following a walk.

Amblers 4 aims to finish before lunch.

Members may only join one of the four Amblers Groups. (to allow for our large number of enthusiastic amblers) However, a member can belong to one Amblers group AND one Amblers Plus group.

15 OCTOBER WALK

I hope you are all keeping fit and well and managing to keep up with Covid guidelines?  What fun it all isn't.

The latest guidelines as of today allow groups of 6 to meet outside, so we are sticking to the format of the last 3 walks all of which have worked very well.

Steve and Sandra have kindly offerred to lead a walk for us , and I have attached details. The parking is a little restricted by Barley Bridge as we are trying to keep the walks to only 5 miles in length, so please allow a bit of extra time in case you have to park further away.

I have also attached the updated avoidance of risk checklist re COVID19 , please read part 2 and individually check your personal risk  before deciding to join us. Please do NOT come if you or any of your household or bubble has had recent symptoms or a positive C19 test.

I look forward to seeing some of you on 15th

Anne

PS I note a few of last year's members have not yet paid their subs to U3A...gentle reminder that you need to be a member to join the walk.
