20 MAY WALK
Our next walk is to be led by David Snaith, in the Silverdale /Arnside area, details below.
As per our last few walks booking is essential, hoprfully for the last time! If you wish to join us, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to book your place. Social distancing is still necessary, and we are not arranging any car sharing.
Meanwhile, can I remind you of Suan Marsden's request; the 'gentle strollers' walking group is in need of some more walk leaders; The walks are short, and social, and much valued by the members, but there is a need for volunteers to assist, as they require 2 leaders each walk.
If anyone is able to join their rota, please contact Suan on email@example.com or phone 01539 728587
Looking forward to seeing some of you on 20th, best wishes

Meeting Place/start: The walk starts and finishes at a point on the road between Arnside and Silverdale near to Arnside Tower. There are two lay-bys on the left of the road (approaching from Arnside) at grid reference 459774 (OL7)
Start Time: 10am
Description: Down to Middlebarrow Wood where we walk clockwise to the Pepperpot in Eaves Wood, overlooking Silverdale. Then down to the Cove, across the fields and back though the village and fields to Eaves Wood at which point we walk clockwise again back to Arnside Tower and our vehicles.
Distance: 5 miles
Comments: Bring coffee and snack, hand sanitiser as usual.
Social distancing is still necessary, so we will walk in groups of 6 with households walking together, and pre booking is required.
15 APRIL WALK
Now that restrictions are easing, we look forward to re-starting our walks on the 15 April to Docker and Lambrigg Fell, on a monthly basis for the time being.
Bob has kindly offered to lead this walk and we attach details of the walk, together with the usual Risk Assessment.
We will be walking in three groups of six and as per last time YOU WILL NEED TO BOOK A PLACE in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not turn up unbooked to avoid the embarrassment of us having to turn you away. We will not be accepting guests for the time being.
We will walk in groups of 6, socially distanced, being considerate to other path users, not mixing with the other groups of 6, and hand sanitising as appropriate. Please remain near your cars at the start, ready to walk at 10.00 am.
Hopefully the weather will continue to improve and we look forward to seeing some of you in a couple of weeks.

(normally) very quiet lane where social distancing should be straightforward. As usual, a little of
everything to complain about (mud, tarmac, gradients ...) but nothing to excess. Only enthusiasts
for sticks will want them. Peaceful countryside with the prospect of some fine views..
Distance: 5.0 miles
Facilities: None! Covid precautions according to Anne and Garnett
We will have our usual coffee/snack stop and finish before lunch.
PLANS DURING COVID19 RESTRICTIONS
We propose to continue walking just once a month on the third Thursday, probably until September when hopefully we will have a better idea of how to proceed over the Autumn/Winter months. In the meantime, we will walk in groups of six to a maximum of 18 people so, as on previous walks, it will be necessary to book. You will be able to book a place on receipt of the walk invitation which as usual will be circulated two weeks beforehand.
From Monday, 17 May up to 30 people will be allowed to meet outside, so depending on the situation at that time, we will give careful consideration as to whether to adopt this for the May walk.
In addition to Bob, Hilary Pickup has also offered to lead a walk on the 17th June, but we do need more volunteers, so please let us know if you are willing to lead a walk. As always, we are happy to accompany anyone to reconnoitre a walk.
The dates leaders are required:
Thursday, 15 April – Bob Wells
Thursday, 20 May – Vacant
Thursday, 17 June – Hilary Pickup
Thursday, 15 July – Vacant
Thursday, 19 August - Vacant
