Meanwhile, can I remind you of Suan Marsden's request; the 'gentle strollers' walking group is in need of some more walk leaders;  The walks are short, and social, and much valued by the members, but there is a need for volunteers to assist, as they require 2 leaders each walk.

If anyone is able to join their rota, please contact Suan on or phone 01539 728587

Looking forward to seeing some of you on 20th, best wishes

Social distancing is still necessary, so we will walk in groups of 6 with households walking together, and pre booking is required.

Now that restrictions are easing, we look forward to re-starting our walks on the 15 April to Docker and Lambrigg Fell, on a monthly basis for the time being.

Bob has kindly offered to lead this walk and we attach details of the walk, together with the usual Risk Assessment.

We will be walking in three groups of six and as per last time YOU WILL NEED TO BOOK A PLACE in advance by emailing  Please do not turn up unbooked to avoid the embarrassment of us having to turn you away. We will not be accepting guests for the time being.

We will walk in groups of 6, socially distanced, being considerate to other path users, not mixing with the other groups of 6, and hand sanitising as appropriate.  Please remain near your cars at the start, ready to walk at 10.00 am.

Hopefully the weather will continue to improve and we look forward to seeing some of you in a couple of weeks.

We propose to continue walking just once a month on the third Thursday, probably until September when hopefully we will have a better idea of how to proceed over the Autumn/Winter months.  In the meantime, we will walk in groups of six to a maximum of 18 people so, as on previous walks, it will be necessary to book. You will be able to book a place on receipt of the walk invitation which as usual will be circulated two weeks beforehand.

From Monday, 17 May up to 30 people will be allowed to meet outside, so depending on the situation at that time, we will give careful consideration as to whether to adopt this for the May walk.

In addition to Bob, Hilary Pickup has also offered to lead a walk on the 17th June, but we do need more volunteers, so please let us know if you are willing to lead a walk.  As always, we are happy to accompany anyone to reconnoitre a walk.

The dates leaders are required:

Thursday, 15 April – Bob Wells

Thursday, 20 May – Vacant

Thursday, 17 June – Hilary Pickup

Thursday, 15 July – Vacant

Thursday, 19 August - Vacant
