What we do
I am sorry to have to be writing to inform you that in view of the worsening developments in the Covid 19 epidemic, that I am supending our walking programme until further notice.
I know some of you will be keen to get out in the fresh air, now the weather is improving, for the sake of your physical and mental wellbeing. However, I do not feel walking in organised largish groups is feasible at the moment. particularly as the walks in the programme for the remainder of the year are not local, involving car travel and inevitably car share.
However, I would encourage you get out and about in groups of two or three if you are able until the situation improves. Some other walking groups are offering informal, local walks if you are interested. If you are members of these groups you will be already awre of these.
Finally, thank you to all those members of our group who have already led walks this year, sometimes in difficult weather conditions and to those of you who were due to lead walks in the following months. Hopefully, we can reinstate the programme again sooner rather than later. In the meantime, take care and stay well.
All the best
We walk about 7 - 9 miles with about 700m ascent. Whenever possible we suggest a meeting place for car sharing.
This is a large group but membership is not restricted as there may be as few as 6 walkers and up to as many as 25 on a walk, depending on the weather and time of year.
New leaders always welcome!
