What we do

Bryan and Richard each organise a regular walk every month on the third Tuesday. This is usually on the high tops of the Lake District or the surrounding area. These tend to be 8-10 miles in length and up to 3000 feet of ascent. They are recce'd in advance by the walk leaders.

Richard also organises the Tuesday Walkers Explorers subgroup. These walks are similar to the regular walks except they are not recce'd in advance. They can be any Tuesday but will not clash with the regular walks or the long distance footpath walks.

Chris organises long distance footpath walks, which are done in sections and not recce'd in advance. These can be any Tuesday but don't clash with any of the other Tuesday walks. The group is currently walking the Dales Way. This walk has proved so popular that the list is currently closed. It will hopefully be re-opened for recruitment to the next walk in the spring.

Margaret runs the Offbeat subgroup. The Offbeat Group seeks to find areas and routes to walk which will explore the less travelled paths. We will try to take a modest pace and cover about 8/10 miles and ascent of approx 2,000 ft. Consequently this has taken us mostly into the Dales and the Howgills. The walks will not clash with other TW walks.

On all walks involving high tops, numbers are limited to around 15 for safety reasons. New members are welcome apart from for the Dales Way which is halfway to being completed.
