Bryan and Richard each organise a regular walk every month, usually on the third Tuesday and usually on the high tops of the Lake District or the surrounding area. These tend to be 8-10 miles in length and up to 3000 feet of ascent, and they are recce’d in advance by the walk leaders.
Chris organises long-distance footpath walks, which are done in sections and which are not recce’d in advance. These can be any Tuesday except that they will not clash with the regular walks. Chris’s subgroup is currently walking the Howgills and Limestone Trail.
Richard also organises the Tuesday Explorers subgroup, in which the walks are similar to the regular walks except that they are not recce’d in advance. These can be any Tuesday except that they will not clash with the regular walks or with the long-distance footpath walks.
On all walks involving high tops, numbers are limited to around 15 for safety reasons.
We are the only group that walks on Tuesdays and new members are welcome in all subgroups.
